Sikh Temple Shooter's Ex-Girlfriend Arrested for Unauthorized Firearm

A joint investigation between the FBI and the South Milwaukee Police department has resulted in the arrest of Misty Cook, the ex-girlfriend of Wade Michael Page, the gunman who killed six people at a Sikh temple over the weekend. "Cook, a 31-year-old waitress and nursing student with reported ties to white supremacist organizations, was arrested Tuesday in a joint investigation with the FBI on suspicion of being a felon in possession of a firearm," the  Los Angeles Times' Kim Murphy and Molly Hennessy-Fiske report. If you recall, a neighbor told Fox News that Cook's and Page's breakup might have contributed to his rampage. CNN adds that authorities didn't say if Cook's arrest and unauthorized firearm had any connection to Page or the Sunday Sikh temple shooting, but her arrest is part of an FBI investigation into the shooting authorities announced on Monday.

The L.A. Times team reports that authorities continue, like they did on Monday, to say that Page acted alone. A specific motive has yet to emerge. "We may end up with just a lot of facts on what he is involved with, who he may be associated with, but we may never know that motive, because he died, and that motive died with him," Oak Creek Police Chief John Edwards told CNN, adding that, contrary to rumors, Page did not have a 9/11 tattoo. "[A]uthorities continued to insist that they were making no assumptions about his motive in attacking Sikh immigrants, who in the past have been mistakenly targeted as Muslims," reports the L.A. Times
