Sixers set record for futility with 27th straight loss

The sad sack Sixers hit another low Friday night as they equaled their franchise-worst 0-17 start from last season in a 116-114 loss to the Houston Rockets. With 27 consecutive losses dating back to March 27, Philadelphia now owns the record for the longest losing streak in North American major professional sports history. The NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost 26 in a row from 1976-77.

They put themselves in a position where maybe you could steal a win. This one, was a little bit different because we clawed our way back.

Boston police are investigating after a man came forward saying 76ers rookie center Jahlil Okafor assaulted him during a fight that was recorded on cellphone video and posted online, police said. The man filed a police report Friday saying he was punched and knocked to the ground outside a nightclub early Thursday morning, authorities said. Okafor said he reacted to heckling about the Sixers’ record.

It was definitely dumb on my part.
