Sixers sign centers Alabi, Koshwal

The Philadelphia 76ers announced Saturday that they signed free agent centers Solomon Alabi and Nayal Koshwal.

Alabi was drafted by the Dallas Mavericks in the second round in 2010 and his rights were traded to the Toronto Raptors. He played two seasons in Toronto. He spent last season with the Idaho Stampede of the NBA Development League and Ikaros Chalkidas of the Greek League. He played collegiately for two years at Florida State, averaging 12 points, six rebounds and over two blocks per game. The Nigerian-born Alabi was named to the ACC All-Defensive Team twice.

Koshwal went undrafted in 2010 after three years at De Paul. In his junior year, he averaged 16 points, 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block. The Sudanese-born Koshwal was one of three Big East players to average a double-double in the 2009-10 season. He spent last season in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas before spending time on several minor league teams.

The Sixers training camp roster is at 20 players.
