Smoke bomb forces suspension of La Liga match

VILLARREAL, Spain (AP) — A smoke bomb thrown onto the pitch of El Madrigal Stadium has forced Saturday's game between host Villarreal and Celta Vigo to be suspended.

A smoke bomb was thrown onto the pitch in the 88th minute, causing fans to stream to the exits and players to ask for water as it apparently irritated their eyesight. A public announcer asked the spectators to evacuate.

TV replays could not locate the person who threw the device.

Celta was winning 1-0 after Fabian Orellana scored in the 83rd.
