    SNHU’s New Online BS in Retail Management Degree Prepares Students Entry into $3.9 Trillion Industry

    SNHU’s new retail management online degree programs prepare students for a variety of managerial, supervisory and professional roles within the one of the largest employment sectors in the United States.

    Retail management is a large, dynamic industry that requires a full understanding of a variety of concepts, from direct sales operations and buying strategies to merchandise procurement and sales supply chains. In order to be successful in retail management, students need to develop sound management and communication skills as well as leadership potential.

    Southern New Hampshire University’s retail management degree program, now available online, gives students the opportunity to select a concentration that meets their interests and career goals, including:

    The Retail Management online degree program is designed to ensure graduates possess a solid grounding in business basics as well as a focus on the real-world application of retailing theory. The curriculum, designed and taught by practicing professionals, includes courses in marketing, retailing, consumer behavior, emerging trends and international retailing.

    "Retailing is a great career option,” according to Eklou Amendah, Assistant Professor of Marketing and Coordinator of SNHU's Fashion Merchandising and Retailing programs. “Not only does retail drive our economy, but it encompasses all areas of business so it is a very well-rounded degree program. Retail, which is totally dependent on the whims and attitudes of consumers, is embracing new technologies, social and mobile media, green initiatives, and all that's new and exciting. It's an exciting and forward thinking field to work in."

    “A degree in retailing prepares graduates for business careers in various retail formats: small businesses, large corporations and online retailers,” says Jeannemarie Thorpe, Assistant Professor of Marketing and Coordinator of SNHU's Fashion Merchandising and Retailing programs. “Graduates of the program demonstrate skills expected from a well-rounded and accomplished retail professional including forecasting, planning, buying and managing merchandise; recognizing emerging trends in the domestic and international markets; identifying and analyzing financial performance indicators.”
