SNL Lampoons New Gun Bill: Dealers Must Ask, ‘Are You a Good Person?’

After the Senate vote this week to begin debate on the new gun control bill, "Saturday Night Live" brought up Sens. "Joe Manchin" (D-W. Va.) and "Pat Toomey" (R-Pa.) to explain some of the compromise they worked out.
But their "compromise" turned out to be a series of absurd provisions, including:
o No person can buy a handgun from a private dealer without being asked, "Are you a good person?" and then the follow-up question, "Seriously, are you?"
o No limit on the amount of ammunition you can carry in magazines...
o ...but there is an absolute limit on the number of guns you can shoot at the same time: two. Anyone caught shooting any more than that will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law -- but for some reason, the punishment is to be given another gun.
o AK-47s have been banned from all coin-operated vending machines.
o And finally, none of the new restrictions apply to Florida ("We typed Florida into the bill, but when we printed it out it just wasn't there").
While the senators are confident their measure can pass the Senate, they're equally confident it will quickly be shot down in the House -- in fact, "they will literally throw it up in the air and shoot it down."
