'SNL' skewers sexist Super Bowl commercials

Millions of people say they watch the Super Bowl just for the commercials. And those commercials often portray women as stereotypical housewives, as "Saturday Night Live" showed in a brilliant parody.

"When it comes to the big game, I love feeding my hungry guys," Vanessa Bayer, an ever-smiling, kitchen-bound housewife, says in the spoof that aired Saturday.

"I normally just sit in the kitchen waiting for them to ask for more delicious Totino's Pizza Rolls. But that can be so boring. Well, not anymore!" she says before introducing a "Super Bowl Activity Pack for Women." "It's full of fun puzzles and games to keep my mind learning while I wait back here."

Among them: paddleball for one, word search ("I found 'hat'!") and connect-the-dots — games she can stop at a moment's notice to replenish the snacks and beer.

"Anything for my hungry guys!" Bayer says.

The commercials weren't the only part of the Super Bowl that "SNL" skewered Saturday. The Seattle Seahawks' running back Marshawn Lynch (played by Kenan Thompson), defensive back Richard Sherman (Jay Pharoah) and coach Pete Carroll (Taran Killam) were all featured during the show's cold-opening sketch.
