Snowball review

Snowball gathers the messages you receive via SMS, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, Snapchat, Hangouts, Twitter, WeChat, Line, and Slack and shows them in one window, making it easier for you to read them.

Pros

Convenient and easy to check: If you're a social butterfly and get messages from friends all the time on different networks, Snowball saves you the trouble of having to switch between apps.

Smooth and pleasant interface: Messages are displayed in a pleasant white and blue interface and are easy to scroll through. Tiny icons show you on which network you've received each message.

Makes messages easy to sift through: When you don't have the time to check each notification you get, Snowball enables you to quickly browse through all of them to separate what's important from the rest. It can be especially useful as a workplace app.

Cons

Doesn't let you directly reply to messages: Although it fetches messages from many networks, if you want to reply to any of them, Snowball merely launches the appropriate messaging app. The lack of a quick reply feature makes interacting with your friends slow and annoying.

Persistent notifications: Notifications won't clear after you've checked them, and there's no way to manually clear them, which means that old notifications just clutter your screen.

No Viber, Skype, or Telegram support: Support for these networks will be coming in a future edition.

Bottom Line

If you get lots of social messages and want an easier way to check them, Snowball won't disappoint you. It's lightweight, fast, and accessible, and although it doesn't clear notifications, it's a useful app to have. However, if you want to be able to quickly answer messages, not just view them, this app can't do much for you.
