Soccer-Power supply explosion hits stadium hosting Spain match

Oct 10 (Reuters) - An electrical explosion at the stadium hosting Spain's World Cup qualifier against Belarus in Palma de Mallorca on Friday is unlikely to affect the match, Real Mallorca officials said. Local media reported on Thursday that a faulty generator seemed to have caused the explosion, which occurred in an area of stadium offices and led to two workers suffering serious burns. Belarus trained in the late afternoon and Spain were due to follow at 19.30 local time (1730 GMT) if there was enough light, an official with the Spain team told reporters. The match between Group I leaders Spain and bottom team Belarus is due to kick off at 2000 GMT at Son Moix on Friday. Spain are level on 14 points with France but have a game in hand in the race to secure top spot and automatic qualification for next year's World Cup finals in Brazil. (Editing by Ken Ferris)
