They gave up there Fed when they joined the EU... The EU though totalitarian; has to have on lookers from every representative country. Thus they can't still simply print money and there is somewhat holds on Unlimited printing.

Gas prices have been high since before Obama took office, unemployment is on the decline.

High taxes? What are you talking about? What high taxes? We have some of the lowest tax rates in the world.

High national debt? Well that follows when revenue is down and we are in a recession, but we've had high national debt for the past eight years. But I see it's only "socialist" when you can tie it to "Obama".

wrdsmt, Germany has shed a great deal of their socialist ways (privatized state owned industries, and the level of safety net has dropped) I know I lived in Europe 92-08. Sweden is still more socialist than Germany but that will eventually end as it's easy to spend other people's money till the other people are gone and in the world of free trade businesses can move to where they can benefit from lower taxes, wages and regulations.

@Wrdsmth Sweden in particular could not sustain their socialist system anymore so they had to privatize many their programs. On top of their economic decline, their socialized healthcare system is now suffering from healthcare rationing which most of the countries with government healthcare suffer from.
