Soledad O'Brien Finds Her Home at Al Jazeera America
After not getting love from Jeff Zucker at CNN, Soledad O'Brien has found another new home at Al Jazeera America, which is building a team of those who wanted out of Zucker's reign.

According to a statement, O'Brien will be a "special correspondent" to the network's primetime show America Tonight, and will contribute short-form segments. Her production company, Starfish Media, will produce hour-long documentary specials for the network. As Lisa de Moraes points out at Deadline, Starfish Media also has deals at CNN, HBO and National Geographic. O'Brien has also joined the HBO Real Sports team.

O'Brien said goodbye to CNN after Zucker bumped her morning show Starting Point, in favor of his Chris Cuomo-venture New Day. O'Brien had made her name at the network with her tough interviews, like when she challenged John Sununu on Obamacare. Al Jazeera America has lured away another CNN stalwart: business reporter Ali Velshi became the company's first bold-faced name hire back in April. The question that remains, as de Moraes writes, is whether or not Time Warner Cable will carry the network. After Al Gore's CurrentTV was sold to Al Jazeera, the carrier promptly dropped Current.
