A truck that was carrying President Obama's telempromter along with $200,0000 worth of sound equipment was stolen from a Virginia hotel parking lot. "Sources said inside that vehicle was about $200,000 worth of sound equipment, several podiums and presidential seals, behind which only the President himself can stand," Virginia's NBC12 station reported. NBC Washington said the stash of equipment included "Obama's see-thru teleprompter." According to the NBC12, the truck was stolen from its spot at the Virginia Center Commons Courtyard Marriott (where Obama was scheduled to speak on Wednesday) and was later recovered on Monday afternoon at a Holiday Inn parking lot near the airport. As the report mentions several times, it isn't even clear that the thieves who tried to steal the reportedly unmarked truck were even going after the sound equipment. Either way, we expect Rush Limbaugh to make jokes about this for at least the next week or so.
