Someone Beat This Dog And Left Him For Dead In A Trolley Bag

Poor Charlie was discovered in a sealed trolley bag with two broken legs on New Year’s Day this year.

The Yorkshire terrier was found in an alleyway in Anfield, Liverpool, and the bruises covering his tiny body suggest he’d been badly beaten.

With Charlie described as friendly and sweet, vets are now caring for the poorly pup while RSPCA inspectors hunt down his owners.

Animal Welfare Officer David Hatton said: “This poor little yorkie was abandoned on the first day of the New Year and was dumped in a black trolley bag in the alleyway off Breckside Park.

"He was very badly injured and in need of veterinary care when we rescued him.

"It is unthinkable that someone would do this. He was badly hurt and just left there. He is such a sweet boy too, really friendly."

Officer Hatton said the RSPCA is appealing for anyone with any information about where Charlie came from or who left him in the alleyway to come forward.

He added: "Thankfully this little fella is now at RSPCA’s Greater Manchester Animal Hospital on pain relief and receiving the care he so badly needed.

"He is very poorly so we are hoping for the best.

"We would ask anyone who knows where he has come from or who may have left him in this state to contact us as soon as possible.

"I dread to think what would’ve happened to him had the member of the public not found him and contacted us.”

Anyone with information about Charlie should contact the RSPCA’s inspector appeal line on 0300 123 8018 and leave a message for Inspector Claire Fisher.
