Sony’s ‘The Art of More,’ Starring Dennis Quaid, Sells to 25 Territories

CANNES — Sony Pictures Television has sold its new drama “The Art of More” into 25 territories. The series made its world premiere at TV market Mipcom in Cannes on Sunday, with the show’s stars — Dennis Quaid, Kate Bosworth, Christian Cooke and Cary Elwes — in attendance.

The 10-episode drama, which debuts in the U.S. on digital streaming service Crackle on Nov. 19, has been sold by SPT to Viacom’s Colors Infinity channel in India, OSN across the Middle East and D-Smart in Turkey.

“The Art of More” is set in the high-stakes world of New York auction houses, and follows Graham Connor (Cooke), a blue-collar young man who leverages his way into the exclusive realm of premium auction houses by exploiting connections to antiquities smuggling rings he was exposed to as a soldier in Iraq. Bosworth (“Still Alice”) plays Roxanna Whitney, daughter of the CEO of one of two warring auction houses, whose intrigue and drama is at the heart of the series.

Keith LeGoy, president of international distribution for SPT, described “The Art of More” as a “fast-paced, fresh, star-studded peak inside the glamorous and cut-throat world of international auctions and art dealing.” He said the drama, with its stellar cast, would “stand out and deliver for linear broadcasters and on-demand platforms, who are showing huge interest in the show.”

The series is created by Chuck Rose, who serves with Gardner Stern (“NYPD Blue,” “Law and Order”) as the series’ writer and executive producer. Also serving as executive producers are Quaid, Gary Fleder (“Runaway Jury,” “The Shield”) and producer Laurence Mark. The series is produced by Laurence Mark Productions.
