South Africa's Assore expects FY earnings drop on weaker prices

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - South African iron ore and manganese producer Assore said on Tuesday its full year earnings are expected to be up to two thirds lower after the dollar prices for its commodities fell during the period. Earnings will fall to between 1.227 billion rand and 1.5 billion for the year through June from 4 billion rand in the previous year, the company said in a statement. The firm's shares were down 3.5 percent to 103.99 rand by 1255 GMT, compared with a flat All Share Index.
