Spike TV Teams With Jerry Bruckheimer Television For ‘Harvest’ Drama
Spike TV has put in development Harvest, a drama series from Jerry Bruckheimer and Warner Horizon Television. The project, part of Spike’s expansion into scripted programming, marks the cable network’s first collaboration with a major studio. (Warner Horizon is the cable division of Warner Bros TV.)
Harvest, which originally was set up at A&E in 2013, is written by Ian Sobel & Matt Morgan (12 Monkeys, From Dusk Till Dawn: The Series). It centers on a mild-mannered cemetery caretaker who finds his small-town life in jeopardy when his estranged, criminal father tracks him down. In order to protect his teenage daughter from the dark secret of her past, the caretaker teams up with his sworn paternal enemy to deal in the illegal tissue trade.
Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman executive produce, with KristieAnne Reed serving as co-executive producer and Sobel and Morgan as supervising producers for Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Warner Horizon TV.

Spike TV officially is returning to scripted TV this summer with the debut of its first event/limited series in eight years, Tut. EVP Original Series Sharon Levy has made it clear that the network’s next goal is launching a drama series, and Spike has been actively developing hourlong scripts. In addition to Harvest, they include The Crusaders, from Pierce Brosnan’s Irish DreamTime and writer David Franzoni; Deep Web, from Tony Krantz of Flame Ventures; The Chairman, based on the Stephen Frey best-seller; Red Mars from Vince Gerardis, based on Kim Stanley Robinson’s Mars Trilogy; Emergency Broadcast, from Legendary Pictures; and War At The Shore, based on Richard D. “Skip” Bronson’s book.
