LISBON, Portugal (AP) — Sporting Lisbon beat Guimaraes 1-0 on Saturday to remain undefeated at home this season and provisionally cut into Benfica's lead at the top of the Portuguese league standings.

Defender Faustino Rojo scored the game's only goal in the 49th minute from a cross by Carlos Mane.

The victory left Sporting in second place. Benfica is four points ahead of Sporting before it visits Braga on Sunday.

With five rounds left after this one, Benfica is closing in on the league title it hasn't won since 2009-2010.

Third-place FC Porto is at Nacional also on Sunday.
