Stephen Baldwin settles NY driving case; attorney says it was related to misunderstanding

NEW YORK, N.Y. - Stephen Baldwin has untangled a traffic case that got him arrested as he was trying to get coffee in New York City earlier this year.

"The Usual Suspects" actor was in court Monday to plead guilty to unlicensed driving. It's a traffic infraction, not a crime. He'll have to pay a $75 fine.

Baldwin declined to comment afterward. His lawyer, Richard Southard, says the case was related to a misunderstanding about Baldwin's license, and it's been cleared up.

Baldwin was arrested in August on a misdemeanour charge of driving with a suspended license. He told the Daily News at the time that he didn't realize his license was suspended.
