Stephen Colbert’s Week 2 Guests Include Bernie Sanders, Lupita Nyong’o

Touching back to his political roots, Stephen Colbert will talk with Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders during his second week as host of CBS’ “Late Show.”

Sanders will appear on the show on Sept. 18, which happens to be just two days after the CNN Republican Primary Debate on Sept. 16. The Democratic candidate is joined by other guests Lupita Nyong’o and “An American in Paris” choreographer Christopher Wheeldon and lead dancers Robert Fairchild and Leanne Cope.

Emily Blunt and Justice Stephen Breyer kick off Colbert’s second week of shows for the Sept. 14 episode, with a musical performance by the Dead Weather. Jake Gyllenhaal is the only guest for the Sept. 15 show with a musical performance by Run the Jewels with TV on the Radio.

The next night, Colbert will talk to Kevin Spacey, Carol Burnett, comedians Abbi Jacobson and Illana Glazer, and Willie Nelson, who is also the musical performer that night. Naomi Watts and United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon wrap up Thursday for Colbert.

Late Show With Stephen Colbert” premieres at 11:35 p.m. Sept. 8 on CBS, where his first guests are George Clooney and Jeb Bush.
