NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks are slipping at the open on Wall Street.
The Dow Jones industrial average is down 25 points at 13,250. The Standard & Poor's 500 index is off three at 1,415. And the Nasdaq composite index is down seven at 3.069.
Lowe's, the world's No. 2 home improvement store, missed earnings expectations Monday. Revenue at stores open at least a year dipped 0.4 percent, and the company cut its outlook for the year. The stock is down almost 6 percent.
In Europe, the Greek prime minister is expected to ask for an extension to reach punishing fiscal targets. The German central bank is also questioning the wisdom of having the European Central Bank buy bonds to help the economy.
