Rolling Stones explore the best of Perth
Mick Jagger is back enjoying the sights of Perth, seven months after learning of his girlfriend L’Wren Scott’s death in New York while preparing to play at the Arena.
The Rolling Stones have their first rescheduled Perth 14 On Fire concert tonight but yesterday Jagger preferred to play tourist in Fremantle as cricket tragic Charlie Watts visited the WACA Ground.
The Stones will play another concert on Saturday night.
It will be the first time the Stones have played multiple shows in Perth since 1965 and their first WA gig in almost 20 years.
Jagger arrived at Fremantle Prison with four minders, one of whom said the rock legend was “really interested in history and really interested in Fremantle”. He was also expected to visit the Round House.

Watts visited the WACA and swapped stories with former Australian cricketers Geoff Marsh and Justin Langer and England women’s team and Western Fury captain Charlotte Edwards.
WACA chief executive Christina Matthews said Watts showed a wide knowledge of the game and took particular interest in the venue’s museum memorabilia.

“Charlie’s a genuine cricket fan and this being an iconic cricket venue, he wanted to come down,” she said. “He and Geoff and Justin had plenty of stories to share.”
Watts’ WACA visit is believed to be the first time he has been to the ground since the band performed there during their 1973 tour.
Last night, Ronnie Wood and Watts had dinner at 2 Fat Indians restaurant in Mount Lawley along with Watts’ granddaughter Charlotte and Woods' 36-year-old wife Sally Humphreys.
To celebrate the Stones highly anticipated shows, which are expected to smash box office records, the Perth Arena has put a back projection of the famous tongue logo on the venue.
"How do you like our gift to @RollingStones ? Only hours to go #Perth! @frontiertouring #StonesPerth #OnFirePerth," the Arena tweeted along with a photo of the venue sporting the iconic rock symbol.

The Stones have gone all out with their official merchandise for the Australian tour, with specialty items made especially for each city.
For Perth, US graphic artist Arian Buhler has created a unique poster featuring the State's Black Swan as the centerpiece.
For fans eager to get their hands on the merchandise, the Arena's external merchandise van and marquee will be open from noon today.
