Study Suggests Cannabis Safer Than Alcohol as Nhale Targets Oregon Market

HOUSTON, TX / ACCESSWIRE / March 3, 2015 / As Nhale, Inc. (NHLE) targets legal cannabis grow and retail operations in Oregon, research published in the journal Scientific Reports found that compared with other recreational drugs - including alcohol - marijuana may be even safer than previously thought. As reported in The Washington Post, the findings indicate alcohol is the deadliest substance at the level of individual use. Marijuana was at the bottom of the list, roughly 114 times less deadly than alcohol, and the only drug out of the seven studied that posed a low mortality risk to its users.

"We are very pleased about these findings that suggest a low risk associated with marijuana use," said Lance Williams, President and CEO of Nhale. "Safety is a forefront priority for Nhale. The report will help allay concerns, and increase public understanding and enthusiasm for the legalization effort."

Nhale is actively pursuing acquisition opportunities in this market and is in talks with a corporation in Oregon regarding a collaborative effort to acquire multiple legal wholesale grow operations and dispensaries through its wholly-owned subsidiary Nhale Oregon Inc.

"For Oregon, the findings arrive at a good time. It also will help promote regulation over prohibition in other states," said Williams.

The report reinforces drug safety rankings developed a decade ago under a slightly different methodology as public support for marijuana continues to increase and the market for cannabis explodes. In Colorado, for example, sales hit $700 million during the first full year of legalization.
