Suffolk Fire and Rescue extinguish vehicle fire; minor injuries reported

SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) – Suffolk Fire and Rescue crews responded to a single-vehicle crash Tuesday morning.

According to officials, crews were called to the 5900 block of Godwin Boulevard around 8:30 a.m. for reports of a vehicle accident.

Crews arrived to the scene and found a vehicle on fire that had struck a power pole and a tree. Police released images of the crash scene. In addition to showing the vehicle involved, it also showed that fire crews blocked that portion of Godwin Blvd. while they worked the incident.

Fire crews worked quickly to clear the road and extinguish the fire.

The sole occupant of the vehicle was said to have sustained minor injuries.
