Sundance: Vimeo, Indiegogo Launch Partnership (EXCLUSIVE)

Crowdfunding platform Indiegogo and Vimeo have launched a partnership designating the video-sharing site as the preferred distribution platform for films backed on Indiegogo.

Under the deal, announced Saturday at the Sundance Film Festival, Vimeo will match select Indiegogo film campaigns in exchange for exclusive distribution on Vimeo On Demand.

Indiegogo will also be joining Vimeo’s newly formed Vimeo On Demand Publisher Network and will create a dedicated Indiegogo VOD home on Vimeo featuring Indiegogo campaign-backed films.

“Vimeo is all about giving power to the creators,” said Vimeo CEO Kerry Trainor. “This partnership highlights both Vimeo’s and Indiegogo’s continued support of independent filmmakers on a global level.”

Vimeo has more than 30 million registered members.
