Suspect to be charged with capital murder in killing of Houston deputy

(Reuters) - A man arrested on Saturday in the shooting death of a sheriff's deputy at a Houston gas station a day earlier will face capital murder charges, Harris County Sheriff Ron Hickman told reporters at a news conference.

The suspect is Shannon Miles, who was picked up for questioning early on Saturday, Hickman said. The sheriff said the suspect apparently targeted sheriff's deputy Darren Goforth only because of his uniform.
