Swype review
With Swype, you type with a single finger, by just dragging it between letters rather than having to actually type out words.
Pros
Smooth typing experience: Even if you've never typed with a swipe-style app before, you should find Swype smooth and easy. There is very little learning curve, and it works extremely intuitively. Within an hour of installing the app, it was actually faster to type with Swype than with the native iOS keyboard.
Word predication: The app also tries to predict what word you're trying to type. Three options appear along the top of the keyboard. The app doesn't need to be installed long before it starts to accurately predict what words you're looking for.
Easy installation: Some of the competing keyboard apps are more difficult to set up, requiring settings adjustments and allowing access to various types of data from your phone. The Swype setup is fast and easy.
Cons
Plain keyboards: Now that third-party keyboards are an option for the iPhone, many app developers have created great keyboards with fantastic design. Swype works well, but its design and theme selection is lacking compared to competing products.
Bottom Line
Even though third-party keyboards are new to the iPhone, Swype has been in the business for a while on other platforms. The company's expertise shows, as the Swype for iPhone app works extremely well and provides a new and useful typing interface for iOS. Typing on the application is both quick and accurate.
