Wireless price war heats up as T-Mobile hits back at Sprint

T-Mobile is tired of waiting for Apple’s (AAPL) permission to sell the iPhone and is taking matters into its own hands. TmoNews reports that America’s number-four wireless carrier is launching a new PR campaign that will encourage users to bring their unlocked iPhones to T-Mobile stores so they can try out T-Mobile’s HSPA+ wireless network for themselves. T-Mobile is currently the only major wireless carrier in the United States that does not formally offer the iPhone on its network and the company has had to suffer the indignity of watching prepaid carriers such as Virgin Mobile and Cricket get the iPhone in recent months.
