Tables for Mac review

Tables for Mac enables you to create, edit, and share spreadsheets quickly through its intuitive interface. While not as feature-heavy as some competitors, this app offers enough to suit most users.

Pros

Chart options: Tables for Mac lets you create several different types of charts and graphs from your data. Options include Pie Charts, Line Graphs, Area Graphs, Stacked Area Graphs, Column Graphs, and Stacked Column Graphs.

Custom styles: The Custom styles option allows you to save a certain set of formatting specifications that you can then apply to other documents you create, which will save a lot of time and frustration in the long run.

Cons

Alternative interface: Unlike many similar programs, this one relies on different pop-up windows to present all available features. For instance, when you click on the Fonts or Inspector buttons, the app opens an additional window that you can use to make your selections. Since you can keep these windows open while you work and move them around as you see fit, this arrangement may work out better for you in the long run. But it does take some getting used to up front.

Bottom Line

Tables for Mac is an efficient and accessible program that offers all the features most users are looking for in a spreadsheet application. The interface may take a little getting used to for some, but overall, this is a well put-together option.

Editors' note: This is a review of the trial version of Tables for Mac 1.5.12.
