Fort Zumwalt West Middle School teacher Matt Hansen was arrested by a police cybercrimes unit June 3 in Iowa when he threatened to jump off a cellphone tower. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports new revelations have been brought forth by the superintendent of Fort Zumwalt's school district.
* A letter to parents explains around 80 male students were changing clothes during an overnight campout. Hansen allegedly secretly videotaped the students undressing.
* Hansen, 38, was originally arrested for supposedly having child porn image on his computer. The video evidence was discovered later.
* A separate note will be sent to parents once individual students are identified from the video recording.
* The Post-Dispatch states Hansen is on administrative leave. He has been teaching middle school in the St. Charles County, Mo., district since 2004 as a math teacher of seventh graders.
* After Hansen's arrest in Iowa, he was extradited to Missouri five days later.
* In the letter, Superintendent Bernard DuBray states Hansen assisted with the Fifth Grade Outdoor Education Program. DuBray has not seen the video and it will remain in possession of police.
* The letter states the students didn't know they were being recorded. There is no evidence Hansen did nothing more than video the boys.
* Hansen assisted with the outdoor program at three elementary schools: Progress South, Lewis and Clark and Dardenne.
* Hansen's employment with the school will be determined by the board of education.
* An affidavit in Iowa stated Hansen made around $40,000 teaching, the Ottumwa Courier reported. It is believed he became distraught after losing his job, which is why the Iowa court appointed a public defender for Hansen.
