Teapot Dome landmark opens in Zillah, Wash., park
ZILLAH, Wash. (AP) — If you're driving through Zillah you can't miss the new visitors' center.
It's a red and white building designed to look like a tea pot.
It was originally built in the 1920s, inspired by the Tea Pot Dome scandal, and it served for years as a gas station.
The city of Zillah purchased the landmark five years ago and moved it to a park.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Wednesday for the roadside attraction. Tourists can stop and take a picture and pick up Yakima Valley maps.
