Jake Locker had a huge day throwing the ball, but it wasn't enough to avoid a difficult loss for the Titans against the 49ers, 31-17, at home.
Locker managed a decent 25 for 41 with 326 yards passing, two touchdowns and one pick. For the 49ers, Colin Kaepernick wound up 13 for 21 with 199 yards passing, one touchdown (0 pass, 1 rush) and no interceptions.
Chris Johnson was a standout player for the Titans, rushing for 39 yards on nine attempts and had four receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown. In the fourth quarter, he got open for a 66-yard catch for a score. Kendall Wright was a leading receiver, hauling in nine balls for 98 yards.
The Tennessee defense gave up 153 yards rushing and 196 passing. They sacked Kaepernick two times.
49ers running back Frank Gore was impressive, churning out 70 yards rushing, 34 receiving and two touchdowns. Tight end Vernon Davis also performed well with 62 receiving yards.
Next week, the Titans head to St. Louis to face the Rams (3-4) while the 49ers go to London to play the Jaguars (0-7).
