Five people were shot by unidentified suspects today at a Black Lives Matter protest in Minneapolis. The protest was sparked by the police shooting and killing of Jamar Clark on November 15. Police say that none of the five injuries that were sustained are life-threatening. This story is unfolding at the same time as news is being released that a Chicago police officer is expected to face murder charges in the shooting of Laquan McDonald, leading some community leaders to believe that Chicago will be experiencing protests similar to those in Minneapolis.
