Texans sign draft picks Swearinger, Williams

The Houston Texans signed rookie safety D.J. Swearinger and offensive tackle Brennan Williams to contracts, the Houston Chronicle reported Monday.

With Swearinger and Williams aboard, the Texans have all nine of their draft picks under contract.

Swearinger, who was taken in the second round out of South Carolina, is competing for playing time to fill spots left by Glover Quin (now with the Detroit Lions) and Ed Reed, who is still recovering from hip surgery.

Williams, taken in the third round out of North Carolina, is vying for the right tackle job. He missed part of the team's offseason program because of a knee injury.
