TextExpander review
TextExpander helps you type more quickly on your iOS device. Once you've installed the new keyboard, it is present in all of your apps. You can also teach the app to understand your snippets more clearly.
Pros
Custom snippets: In TextExpander, you can assign shorthand to a snippet of text, so whenever you type that abbreviated form, the entire snippet of text will appear. This makes the app very quickly customizable for whoever is using it.
Advanced features: There are a lot of new keyboards and typing aids available for iOS 8, but TextExpander might be the most advanced. The ability to add macros to your snippets (so you can insert things like the current time) or to insert snippets inside of snippets using a macro is very powerful.
Sharing: If you use TextExpander on other iOS devices, or on your Mac, you can share snippets across your devices. This helps the program learn more on all of your devices and makes typing easier, without having to re-teach each app how to understand your shorthand. You can also use Dropbox to share or back up your TextExpander snippets.
Cons
Learning curve: Because there is so much that you can do with this app, it can take a while to unlock all of its potential. The app would be well served by a better tutorial. As it is now, the time you can save typing with the app is nearly negated by the time it takes to learn all of its functions.
Bottom Line
This is an incredibly powerful app for speeding up the way you type on an IOS device. Although learning all of its ins and outs can be tricky, once you do, you'll be amazed at how useful it actually is.
