The United Nations released a report Monday titled, "The Human Cost of Weather Related Disasters," which indicated that weather-related natural disasters have become increasingly frequent. The report notes that between 2005 and 2015, there were on average 335 weather-related disasters per year, accounting for nearly one per day. The figure is nearly double the amount of weather-related natural disasters reported from 1985 to 1994. Below are visualizations to highlight a number of relevant human and economic consequences found in the report.
