The Hunger Games Cast Ditch The Ballgowns For An Edgier Look At The NYC Premiere

It’s been a long month for the cast of “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2”.

They’ve traipsed from city to city promoting the last installment of the hit franchise (which any fan worth their salt will know hits cinemas today), and last night marked the last premiere.

The cast gathered in the big apple for the event, dressed up to the nines and hit the shots on the red carpet. Well, wouldn’t you after working on the film series for over five years?

But rather than donning another dazzling array of ballgowns and fairy tale couture, the leading ladies opted for edgier looks for their final farewell.

Jennifer Lawrence vamped it up in a flowing black dress from Schiaparelli, featuring a sheer bodice that showed off her lace black bra.

The 25-year-old added to her look with a couple of simple silver necklaces, dark plum lipstick and her go-to winged eyeliner. She kept her platinum blonde locks loose.

Jena Malone also decided on an all-black look.

The actress wore an Emanuel Ungaro ensemble, complete with fishnet sleeves and a bizarre bodice that we can’t quite get her head around – it’s a far cry from the girly dresses she’s donned for the majority of the film’s promotional events.

Natalie Dormer also left her ballgowns at home, preferring to look a little more on-trend in a matching leather jacket and skirt by Roland Mouret and zip-up ankle boots.

The British star kept her blonde locks loose and tousled.

The film’s other leading ladies – Elizabeth Banks and Willow Shields – weren’t spotted on the red carpet but Julianne Moore, who missed the LA premiere, hit a high note in a glittering emerald green Chanel dress.
