The tragic terrorist attacks that occurred on Sept. 11, 2001, took place nearly 10 years ago, and if you're looking to pay your respects to those lost on that day, check out these anniversary events in Chicago.
* The Chicago Fire Department will be conducting a Memorial Stair Climb on Sept. 10 to pay homage to the FDNY members who heroically gave their lives on Sept. 11, 2001. The Memorial Stair Climb will take place at the Aon Building (200 E. Randolph St.) and will cost a registration fee of $25 per climber, who is encouraged to raise $100 for the cause.
* The Chicago Field Museum is running a special exhibit, Ground Zero 360, to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the attacks. Ground Zero 360 will run from Sept. 2 through the end of the year at the Field Museum (1400 S. Lake Shore Drive) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is free with basic museum admission.
* The Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago will host A Community Service of Commemoration, hosted by the Chicago Sinai Congregation, the Downtown Islamic Center, Fourth Presbyterian Church and Holy Name Cathedral to honor those lost in the attacks. The event will take place on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m. with free admission at the Fourth Presbyterian Church of Chicago (North Michigan Avenue and Delaware Place near the John Hancock Center).
