Titans agree to deal with DL Pitoitua

The Tennessee Titans agreed to contract terms with defensive end Ropati Pitoitua, the Tennessean reported Monday.

Pitoitua had 51 tackles and two sacks in 15 games (10 starts) for the Kansas City Chiefs last year. The 6-foot-8, 315-pounder can play multiple positions on the defensive line.

"Ropati gives us the big body we were looking for at the defensive end position," general manager Ruston Webster said. "He has played a number of games and been productive. He should be an asset for us in the run game at end and also could give us flexibility on game days with the ability to kick inside for some snaps."

The Titans have signed 10 free agents this offseason.

Pitoitua has played in 37 games during his four-year career. He also played for the New York Jets for three seasons. He was an undrafted free agent in 2009 out of Washington State.
