TNT Renews The Librarians for Season 2

If you've got any overdue books magical objects or artifacts lying around, now would be the time to return them. TNT has renewed The Librarians for a 10-episode second season, the network announced Thursday.

A spin-off of the network's popular made-for-TV Librarian movies starring Noah Wyle, the drama stars Rebecca Romijn, Christian Kane, Lindy Booth, John Kim, and John Larroquette as a team employed by an ancient organization hidden beneath New York's Metropolitan Public Library. While you and I work "normal" jobs, they solve mysteries, recover powerful magical artifacts, and fight against the supernatural to protect the world from "secret magical realities." Wyle recurs as Flynn Carsen, the role he originated in the Librarian films.

The Librarians debuted with a two-hour premiere last December that averaged 5.4 million viewers, making it the the most-watched cable premiere of 2014 behind TNT's own The Last Ship (5.3 million). According to the network, The Librarians' first season averaged 11.4 million viewers per week after factoring in multiple platforms and DVR playback. Season 2 will debut later this year.
