TNT Renews Rizzoli & Isles for Season 6

TNT has ordered an 18-episode sixth season of Rizzoli & Isles, the network announced Tuesday. The remaining three episodes of Season 5 will air in early 2015, with the debut of Season 6 slated for summertime.

Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander star in the crime drama, which is basic cable's #1 series. Jordan Bridges, Bruce McGill, Idara Victor, and Lorraine Bracco also star.

Rizzoli & Isles joins freshman series Legends, The Last Ship, and Murder in the First; outgoing alien invasion drama Falling Skies; and veteran The Closer spin-off Major Crimes in TNT's 2015 lineup. The network canceled Perception and Franklin & Bash last month, and put an end to Dallas in October.
