    1. Euro 2012

    On the other side of the world, Europeans are on the edge of their seats for the UEFA European Football Championship (commonly referred to as Euro 2012). This exciting tournament is only organized once every four years. This picture, posted to Twitter by Frenchman @sebclaudet, displays the audience in Warsaw, Poland and the ceremonial start of the match between Poland and Greece, kicking off the EURO 2012 (on June 8). The game ended in a draw. #EURO2012

    1. Houlah Massacre

    On the night of May 25, more than 100 people, including 34 women and 49 children, were massacred in Houla, Syria. This horrible, gruesome news was one of the most-discussed topics on Twitter this week.
