Top archbishop 'denounces Vatican corruption'

I was raised Catholic and I have to say that what I have seen over the years regarding the abuses in and by the church has saddened me tremendously. I can no longer attend Mass which used to bring me so much comfort. After what we have heard in the news about the church's actions during and after WWII and the abuses heaped upon children by different priests, I can no longer call the Catholic Church home. The Vatican ignored what was happening in Germany in the 30s & 40s. They helped Nazis and their collaborators disappear to keep them safe. That is dispicable. I must say though, that more people have been killed in the name of religion than for any other reason. As educated as people have become, we are still killing in the name of religion and abuse and misuse of people in not prevalent in just the Catholic Church all denominations have it. You have preachers who are thieves, adulterers and killers. I now look on priests and preachers as salesmen. They have a product to move and play on your emotions to entice you to part with your money.

And the church wants to run ads asking the people to come home. I am and will always be a Catholic, but the leaders of our church are disgusting.

I'm confused, is the Catholic Church a buisness that should be taxed or a non-profit church?

Corruption in rampant throught the Roman Church. Perhaps it is time to stop making contributions to the Catholic Church and to stop putting money in their collection plates. If they want to survive, the Church will need to start spending their ill-gotten gains where they should be spent--on truly helping the poor and unfortunate.

Vatician politicians are completely corrupt. I guess the church isn't that far out of step with america after all.

The church is losing it's way. It is almost sad how corrupt and detached from the teaching of Jesus the hierarchy has become. From power grabs on dictating local masses, to their denial of a woman her right to control her own reproductive choices, the new pope has taken this church away from it's people and it's mission. Maybe soon fox will become the official station of the church.

Honestly, how the Vatican handles its money is the smallest element of corruption there. I'm still waiting to see anyone actually take responsibility for centuries of church sanctioned child abuse & molestation. I'm not holding my breath though; their #$%$ are all covered as long as Pope Palpatine is in charge.
