An eco-friendly smartphone that’s light on the wallet
The LG Optimus Elite is a smartphone for Android users who are concerned about the environment. It is the successor to the company’s popular Optimus S smartphone. The casing is made out of 50 percent recycled plastic and the device meets the tough ULE Platinum standard. While its eco-credentials check out its tech specs are somewhat lacking: the device runs on an older version of Android (version 2.3), has a 3.5-inch touchscreen with a low resolution of 480 x 320, 3G connectivity, an 800MHz single-core processor, NFC and a 5MP rear-facing camera. The LG Optimus Elite is available now for $29.99 on a two-year contract.
