Some 5.3 million Americans currently suffer from Alzheimer's disease with the number projected growing to as many as 16 million in the coming years. California and Florida will have the largest population of Alzheimer's patients with over 500,000 in each state according to a report issued today by the American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance , an industry trade group.
