SAN SALVADOR, EL Salvador—A strong earthquake has rocked El Salvador and parts of Guatemala, but no there were no immediate reports of injuries or damage in either country. The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 5.9. The USGS says it hit 31 miles (51 kilometers) southwest of Sonsonate, El Salvador.
