The Olympic torch has arrived at Parliament. Canadian figure skater Barbara Ann Scott carried the flame on Thursday through the halls of Parliament in the House of Commons. The 81-year-old Scott won the singles title at the 1948 Winter Olympics in St. Moritz, Switzerland. She is the only Canadian woman to win Olympic gold in figure skating.

The synchronized skating team has a lot to be proud of after opening its season this weekend at the Dr. Richard Porter Classic. The competition, held Dec. 5 and 6 in Ann Arbor, Mich., featured teams from all over the globe. The schedule had the 'Hawks showcasing short programs Saturday and long programs Sunday.
