Governor Sonny Perdue has set a special election for January 5 to fill the seats of state Senator Ed Tarver and state Representative Hardie Davis. Tarver resigned as senator recently to take a job as the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Georgia, which includes Augusta and Savannah.
