Next generation IE to render JavaScript faster Microsoft today claimed that its next browser, Internet Explorer 9, has nearly closed the JavaScript performance gap between itself and rivals made by Mozilla and Google, even though the browser has been in development only a few weeks.

Developers to bake access control into applications Microsoft will pass out beta code that it hopes will define the next evolution of directories. It's a modular addon that is built on a database and designed to add querying capabilities and performance never before possible in a directory.

Google isn't launching its Google Chrome operating system quite yet—but it is ready to talk about it.
