MOORHEAD, Minn., Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Leaders of Fargo, N.D., and Moorhead, Minn., are moving to support a $962 million flood control plan for the Red River, observers say.
The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Red River at Fargo after recent rains, but only minor flooding is expected.
The Metro Flood Study Work Group decided Thursday to eliminate the option that would include a series permanent levees and home buyouts, and focus instead on a Red River diversion plan.
