The Los Angeles City Council has voted to submit a bid to become a host city of the FIFA World Cup in 2018 or 2022. The council voted Tuesday to submit an application, but FIFA would have to choose the United States to be a host country first. Australia, England, Indonesia, Japan, Netherlands-Belgium, Russia and Spain-Portugal have also filed to host both World Cups.
